Binoculars look very nice but one side does not focus, in fact, can see through only one side. Due to the fact that I paid so little, I am not going to hassle with sending them back, but won't buy through that channel of Amazon in the future. Cheaply constructed of plastic but the binocs are ok. The strap connecting holders on sides of binocs are very flimsy plastic. One of them was broken before I opened the bubble wrap, making it impossible to ever attach the neck strap.

Living in southern California, I've found no end of usefulness to these binoculars. I've used them to scout waves at the beach, figure out which skiing run is less crowded, looking for a clear rock face to climb, hunting out a good camping spot in the desert, or just looking for a better view of a baseball game.



I used to borrow a friend's pair all the time until eventually I broke down and bought one of my own. It's a great product that hasn't let me down yet, and has stood up to endless abuse (kicked through the sand, dropped in the water and worse).

I got these when they were the gold box deal of the day. They're certainly made cheaply and I wouldn't recommend them for more than $50. But for the price they're 'ok'. I'm by no means a 'binocular expert', but for my limited use (vacations, sporting events), they're more than adequate. Probably bird watchers and hunters would want a higher quality binocular.I agree with the other reviewer, the lens caps didn't stay on. It's definitely the far lower end of what Bushnell makes.

This pair of binoculars features a built in compass that is especially useful for inshore navigation and taking bearings on channel- and land-marks. The compass is illuminated by sunlight during the day and a battery-powered light at night. The substantial housing seems to fit well in the hands of both large and small navigator and the rubber eyecups accommodate eyeglass wearers.

The only problem with these is that there is separate focusing for each ocular and the focussing mechanism is slow. At sea, this isn't much of a problem, but it's annoying at closer distances like those encountered in the woods on land.

I purchased these binoculars for my wife to go on Safari in Africa. I have a pair of Nikons that are similar. I found the Bushnell's to be very clear, lightweight, and handled and adjusted well.I especially liked the objective lens covers that open but stay attached to the binoculars; my Nikons have the kind that remove individually and can be lost easily. We are pleased with the Bushnells and a very good price.

These are my first upscale binoculars, replacing a 35 year old Sears 10x50 ultra wide angle binoculars with broken focus. What an improvement! These are light weight (12 oz less than my old clunker), much brighter, remarkably wide field of view, sharp edge-to-edge, comfortable, well made. The rubbberized grip feels good.



This model comes with rubber lens caps that stay with the unit (after you thread the strap through the eyepiece cap) but can be easily removed and stored, two straps (small and large padded) plus a chest harness that clip to pre-mounted 6" hanger straps, a soft bag, a semi-hard case (7 oz) and a small lens cloth.



Inter-eyepiece spacing is adjustable 59-75 mm ("PD" for glasses). Minimum focus is about 7' for my old eyes, less with my glasses. The FOV is at least 10% wider than my old pair which claimed 420 ft at 1000 yds.



"Adapt to tripod" feature means you can buy an adapter ($15) for use with standard tripods.



The wide FOV and other specs (light weight, ED glass, etc), and a reasonable price, drew my attention. For general purpose binoculars, I can't imagine a better product. Recommended.

I could say that I should blame myself for loosing 100 photos shot with this binocular/camera, but I did everything that the instructions stated. When I thought that the SD card was full, I took it out and inserted a new one. The counter on top of the camera reverted to 0. When I got home from Alaska, I only had a few pictures from the second card. The first SD card had no pics on it. So disappointing. I'll never get to go to Alaska again!

I have owned several pairs of larger and more expensive binocs, however, these definately hold their own against them all. I needed a smaller pair for when I wanted the near-performance of a larger pair, but not the bulk. The last compact pair I owned were 10 X 25 that did not feel as good on the eyes and in the hands. I prefer these because they are clearer and less "telescope-ish", giving a noticeably wider field of view. I highly recommend these unless you have big hands with fat fingers! :)

We are very pleased with this pair of binoculars. They are small enough that our 5 yr old can hold and focus on her own - and she can independently pick them up and watch the woodpeckers in the yard. Even though her hand is not real steady, she hasn't complained about what she is seeing. We are brand new to the world of using binoculars but they really came in handy when using them from our ceiling level seats to have our girls see Hannah Montana up close. They are so clear and compact even in the dark. The only problem I see is the lense caps will probably be lost fairly quickly as they are very loose fitting.

I bought these because they were the cheapest pair of compact bushnells I could find at the local department store. Waterproof is a bonus although I have no need for it yet.



In response to the reviewer saying the lenses are not clear; these lenses are QUITE clear, much clearer than the 10 dollar competition. The difference is night and day, and is why I bought the bushnell name.



For 40 dollars you can't go wrong. Not terribly useful during darker periods but that is to be expected with compact lenses.
